soakers
I'm way behind on updating this thing. As that krazy Libi Lou keeps reminding me! ;D
I have about five soakers to get on here I think. A red one that was an experiment, I crocheted it in ribbing, vertically. Turned out ok I think. Very fast to put together when baby has outgrown every woolie in sight. Then a purple wool and mohair soaker made with Peace Fleece yarn. I love that yarn! It's not so soft to start with, but it feels like a completely different yarn after that first washing. And it's durable, I don't worry about sending my toddler into the yard wearing it. The purple one was my first try using the Curly Purly waistband . It's nearly too small for her now. Then I made a spring colorway Curly Purly soaker for my toddler. I wasn't too thrilled with this pattern for my wee babe, but on my toddler! I love how it fits under his clothes, no bulky drawstring, the waistband is high so there is no chance of his jeans getting inbetween him and the wool, thus meeting the diaper to wick moisture out. After that I did a "picnic" colorway in a bulky, Iceland by Crystal Palace, for the baby. And the last one was variegated browns in Manos del Uruguay for the toddler. I loved working with Manos! So soft and very fun to watch knit up. I've always enjoyed watching how variegateds spread or pool around when knit up, Manos is a thick n thin which gives another dimension to watch as it knits up. Quite fun.
I swear I'll get a picture of them all sooner or later.
I'm 3/4 of the way done with another one for baby. It's in a rainbow colorway in Blackberry Ridge merino, hand dyed by Wooly Wonders by Nada. I am in serious love with this yarn. It's super soft, squishy, stretchy but sturdy. Just yum!
