My Latest Tiedye Victims

fishermans wool

a diaper for the new babe (did several of these in different styles)

There are a few more projects not pictured from that day, I had fun! I'm mostly happy with all of them. Though I think I'm going to get some more red dye for the wool, after it fully dried the red turned into more of a bubblegum pink, I was going for a red.

ok ok!

My newly found knitting addiction is all Raisya's and Libi's fault!! Blame them for the endless rambling that will follow! MWAHHAHAHA

I think I've figured this out

Well. Now that I've messed around settings awhile I ought to introduce myself. I'm Nola, hiya :) I have three very kewl kiddos, and a fourth due in a few weeks. I'm a full time educator, cook, housekeeper, walking milk bar and incubator. In a word, Mom :D

This will be mostly for my crafty stuff. I've sewn for years, just learned to quilt earlier this year, and just learned knitting within the last month. I considered knitting out of my league for a very long time, until two unnamed efriends sent/gave me some adorable handmade things. As I kept looking at and rubbing those knit and crochet items I wondered, "Wonder if I could pull that off, she claims all she did was read the directions." I lasted about a week? before I drove to Michaels for knitting needles and yarn. I lived at
www.stitchguide.com for a couple days. Lo and behold I could knit more than a knot!!! *THUD* It really was just following the directions!! Knitting "longies" or wool soaker pants for my cloth diaperling toddler was my main motivation. I have my (err his) first pair nearly done, I ran out of wool though. It'll have to wait until I get back to the lys (local yarn store). Since running out of that wool, I've ordered some Peace Fleece from www.dashingdachs.com in her Gate Night colorway for my next pair. And knit a cotton slipper for my oldest ds, in Sugar'n Cream's Sunkissed colorway (white, yellow and blue). Now I'm in the middle of a hat for him, cotton again, in Sugar'n Cream's Summer Splash colorway (greens, yellow, and a smidge of bright blue). After the hat I'll make his other slipper, if there isn't fresh wool in the mail calling to me :D Pics later, maybe.

Here's my (our?) first pair of woolie pants, just after I ran out of wool. The long pantleg is on a stitch holder because I'd like to make it abit longer.
